National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
I'm seriously thinking of doing this, this year. Anyone else game?
Re:NaNoWriMo
Ach! Pressure.
Thanks but... noooooooo..........
I'm not a complete idiot -- some parts are missing.
I'm in.
As to our chat the other night:
I'm game. Writing is what I do during the winter months, so I might as well push my limits. Besides, I have a leg up on everyone seeing as I only work part time. If you all who hold down families and real jobs are going to do this, then I sure as heck can to.

Well...I signed up for the month long self torture session. How about anyone else?

yeah! misery loves company:)
Color me insane--I'm in, too.
I'm nuts. I know it. I just signed up for NaNoWriMo...maybe this year I'll actually reach the 50,000 word mark. I hate the idea of striking out three years in a row...

Note to parents: don't let your kindergarteners do emoticons!
On the other hand, maybe committing to NaNoWriMo will cause something to happen (like a new job!) that will prevent me from getting any writing done at all...

Re:NaNoWriMo
I don't think so. Things are hard enough for me now. I can barely find tiome enough to do short stories.

I hope things get better for you soon, Bob.

thanks
Re:NaNoWriMo
OK, everyone tried it. Anyone succeed? I got to 50.5K by 11/29, so I won, but am still a few hundred away from completion. And what am I supposed to do with the story once I do finish it?
Re:NaNoWriMo
Yeah I got there...66,000 by the 27th. I've finished the draft but it needs a lot of work. I've just finished formatting and I've started going over the outline I wrote...to see what I've left out and what else needs to go in.
There are some holes in it...some unexplained stuff...l guess you can't write that fast and not have some cleaning up to do!
Re:NaNoWriMo
I barely squeeked getting my 50K by the deadline. I've been editing ever since and it has been a long, hard process... Hubby keeps reminding me how patient he is being.

NaNo
Been away for a while.
I hit 64K by NaNo conclusion, and rather surprised I did that. Much thanks to those SFWWers that pulled me into the thing. It sure jumpstarted my writing.

Lots of revision I imagine, and whatever else your imagination will let you do. Having actually written something is a pretty big something, no matter what comes next. There's always the March revision NaNo thing, and then there's always another NaNo in Nov...
