Well, this is actually old. It was from January, in the Ezine demensions.
What was great was that it was chosen as that month's Editor's Choice.
Since there was nothing on this board yet, i thought I'd add something
The address is below...that takes you right to my story from the January 2003 issue.

The Gift?
I'm not a complete idiot -- some parts are missing.

dat da one...actual this was a second printing. originally printed in the now defunct spaceways weekly like in 1999 or 2000. Long time members will probably recall the story 'cause about a thousand versions of it went through here:)

Re:A story of mine published
Excellent! I enjoyed it. Noted a couple typos though.
Is "drexlers" something you coined, or a common term for nanomachines? it seems familiar, somehow.

editor and i must of missed the typos. i've read the thing so many times i don't notice anymore...
drexlers, as a name for nanomachines is my coinage, but the name comes from k. eric drexler author of engines of creation and founder of the foresight institution which promotes nanotech research and awareness of its dangers.
Re:A story of mine published
The link doesn't point to your story anymore and the links to earlier editions don't seem to work either. Shame really, would have been interested in reading it. lol.

Re:A story of mine published
I've just managed to come to this forum site for the first time, and saw that Mike published a story called "The Gift." It caught my eye, because I've been considering submitting for criticism with the group an older story of mine with the same title.

Re:A story of mine published
Well done, Mike! Congratulations! That was a great story, and I enjoyed watching you develop it.

Thanks. I like the story, and I think developing it taught me alot about my own writing abilities. I also have toyed with expanding the theme/story but I think the only reason The Gift works is because of the present tense narration.
Re:A story of mine published

Hmm...someone getting published....just the sort of motivation I need to get cracking on some of my stuff again!
